IELTS Writing Task 2 Guidelines
1. IELTS recommends spending
no more than 40 minutes on Task 2, allowing you to manage your time freely.
2. Aim to write over 250
words, and delve into lessons on word count and essay length.
3. Task 2 contributes to 66% of your total writing marks, impacting your overall score.
4. Assessment criteria include Task Response, Coherence & Cohesion, Vocabulary, and Grammar (each 25%)..
5. Academic Task 2 involves
formal essays categorized as Opinion, Discussion, Advantage/Disadvantage,
Direct Questions, and Solutions.
6. GT Task 2 mirrors Academic
IELTS, with the only difference being that GT essay questions are often
simpler.
7. Every word counts, including small or repeated ones.
